Jens Alsleben, born 1966, holds a master degree in economics from the
University of the Federal Armed Forces in Hamburg, Germany. Including his
studies he was on active duty with the German Airforce for eight years
until 1993 where he joined Deutsche Bank. After four years as an
relationship manager for corporates he was an executive personal assistant
for two former members of the board of managing directors of Deutsche Bank
for two years. Since August 2000 he works in the Mergers and Acquisition
department of Deutsche Bank in Frankfurt.

Peter Aschmoneit, born 1974, is a research assistant and PhD student at
the mcm institute for Media and Communications Management, where he
emphasise on electronic market design. He especially is interested in the
design of cross media products. Peter graduated from the University of
Hohenheim, Germany, with a major in economics and business administration.
He also studied business administration at the California State University
in San Francisco, USA. In his studies he specialised in Marketing. During
his studies he worked for ABB, Germany; Deutsche Babcock, South Africa;
T-Systems, Germany; Cyprus, USA; and Deutsche Bank, Germany.

Dipl.-Ing. Klemens Dobberkau, born 1969, holds a masters degree in
mechanical engineering from the University of Braunschweig, Germany. He
has been scientific assistant at the Institute for Manufacturing
Engineering and Production Management of the University of Kaiserslautern,
Germany, since 1996. He puts the main emphasis on methods in product
development, quality management, project management and knowledge
management. He is especially working on the enhancement of the
implementation of these methods.

Dr. Martin J. Eppler is senior lecturer at the University of St. Gallen
and head of the Competence Center Enterprise Knowledge Medium, where he is

Hans-Jörg Fetzer, born 1969, holds a masters degree in mechanical
engineering from the University of Karlsruhe, Germany. He has been a
member of the scientific staff of the Institute for Manufacturing
Engineering and Production Management of the University of Kaiserslautern,
Germany, since 1997. His work fields are the introduction of groupware
systems to small and medium sized companies in particular as well as the
application of information and communication technologies and knowledge
management in general.

Julia Gerhard holds a masters degree in business administration from
Ludwig-Maximilians-University, Munich, Germany with a minor in Marketing
from the California State University San Bernardino, US. In January 2000,
she joined the Institute for Media and Communications Management at the
University of St. Gallen as a member of the research staff, where she has
been involved in developing and implementing the "Executive MBA in
New Media and Communication", as well as in teaching in the area of
Media and Society. Her research interest lies in marketing Higher
Education. She developed the case "Capitalizing Knowledge - Think
Tools" for the MBA program.

Dr. Claudia Jonczyk, born 1973, holds a PhD in Business Administration,
specialization organization studies, from the University of Geneva and a
master degree in business administration from the University of St.
Gallen. As a visiting research fellow at the MIT Sloan School of
Management she did research in the field of organizational learning in
high-risk industries. Her other research areas are knowledge management
and the use of case studies in organizational development. Prior to coming
to Geneva she worked in strategy consulting, being based in Munich,
Germany.

Pavel Kraus, born 1955, holds a Doctorate from ETH Zurich and a master
degree from the University of Chicago. In 1987 he joined Hoffmann-La Roche
holding various positions in pharma marketing. As a knowledge networking
officer he developed and implemented knowledge management methods in the
Roche diagnostics division. After leaving Roche, P. Kraus has joined a
consulting company aht'intermediation. He is also a member of the
executive committee of the Swiss Knowledge Management Forum.

Dr. Martin Schindler was born in 1972. He holds a masters degree in
information management (Dipl.-Wirt. Inform.) of the University of
Paderborn, Germany. He was affiliated with Robert Bosch South Africa in
1995 and with PAVONE Informationssysteme AG from 1995-1997 as a consultant
for project management and project management information systems. From
1997-2000 he was research assistant at the University of St. Gallen where
he was responsible for the research area "knowledge management in
distributed projects". From 1998 he worked as a Senior Consultant at
Business Media AG, St. Gallen, an international operating consulting
company in the area of knowledge management. He received his doctoral
degree in 2000. Since October 2000 he is responsible for the Business Unit
Knowledge Management at Business Media AG. He has published several
articles and a book on knowledge management.

Peter Stadelmann, born 1965, holds a Doctor's degree in Business
Administration from the Univerity of St. Gallen (HSG). He nowadays is
Chief Executive Officer and Partner of MZSG Team Syntegrity® AG, a
subsidiary of the Malik Management Institute. He has been working for more
than ten years as a business consultant and management trainer at the St.
Gallen Management Center (MZSG), an early and reputed spin-off of the
University St. Gallen.

O liver Sukowski, born 1970, studied
industrial engineering and management at the University of Paderborn in
Michigan, USA and at Cambridge in the UK. After completing his studies, he
founded a management consultancy firm focusing on information technology
and management. In September 1999, he joined the Institute for Media and
Communication Management at the University of St Gallen as a member of
research staff. There he, in cooperation with several partner firms, has
been involved in studying knowledge management in teams and the
interaction between e-business and knowledge management.
